EPEC™-O Self-Study: Cultural Considerations When Caring for African Americans
After completing the supplemental activities, the participant will be able to:
- Identify barriers to accessing hospice and palliative care encountered by African Americans with cancer, as well as ways to address and overcome these barriers.
- Communicate with African American patients and families in a culturally-sensitive, patient-centered way, in order to facilitate addressing the care goals of the patient and family.

Estimated Time to Complete the Supplemental Activity
The time to complete the activity and the associated self-assessments is approximately 1 hour for each plenary session and 1.5 hours for each module.
