(Posted: 02/03/2010) - In a small randomized clinical trial, breast cancer patients experiencing joint pain and stiffness from aromatase inhibitor (AI) treatment reported an improvement in pain from acupuncture.

(Posted: 12/16/2009) - Home care nursing (HCN) improves the management of symptoms in breast and colorectal cancer patients who take the oral chemotherapy drug capecitabine, according to a study published online November 16, 2009, in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.
3. Letrozole More Effective Than Tamoxifen in Early Breast Cancer: Results from the BIG 1-98 Trial 5
(Posted: 01/17/2006, Updated: 10/06/2009) - In this large international trial of postmenopausal women treated surgically for early-stage hormone-responsive breast cancer, letrozole did better to prevent a recurrence of disease (especially distant metastases) than the commonly prescribed tamoxifen. Sequential therapy, in which letrozole was followed by tamoxifen or tamoxifen was followed by letrozole, did not improve outcomes over letrozole alone.
4. Weight Lifting Does Not Exacerbate and May Improve Lymphedema Symptoms After Breast Cancer 6
(Posted: 09/16/2009) - Slowly progressive weight lifting did not aggravate limb swelling among breast cancer survivors with lymphedema, according to a randomized clinical trial in the August 13, 2009, issue of The New England Journal of Medicine.
5. Radiation Therapy Helps Prevent DCIS Recurrence After Breast-Conserving Surgery 7
(Posted: 03/10/2009) - The addition of radiation therapy to breast-conserving surgery halves the risk of a tumor recurrence compared with surgery alone in women with noninvasive breast tumors, according to a pooled analysis of trial results published January 21, 2009, by the Cochrane Reviews.
