16.  Complete Remissions in Early Leukemia Trial
(Posted: 07/25/2001, Reviewed: 03/15/2006) - Scientists report in the July 26, 2001, issue of the New England Journal of Medicine that 11 of 13 patients with hairy cell leukemia had complete remissions after receiving adequate treatment with the recombinant immunotoxin BL22.

17.  Imatinib Mesylate Proves Itself in Chronic Myeloid Leukemia
(Posted: 04/05/2001, Reviewed: 12/13/2006) - Imatinib mesylate, also known as STI571 or Gleevec, offers much promise for treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia and may soon surpass interferon alpha as the standard treatment for the disease, according to two reports published April 5, 2001, in the New England Journal of Medicine.

20.  Arsenic for Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia Offers Complete Remission
(Posted: 11/10/1999, Reviewed: 05/11/2005) - Reports from China have suggested that intravenous infusions of the compound arsenic trioxide could lead to complete remissions in people with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) who have failed other forms of therapy. Now a report in the Nov. 1998 New England Journal of Medicine confirms the earlier findings.
