Dr. von Eschenbach: I really am coming at this role, especially at the outset, by saying that my primary attitude is come in to create the "We"...That I come to this role wanting to bring together all of the expertise that exists both within the NCI and outside of the community to work collaboratively and collectively towards a comprehensive solution to the problem of cancer.

In many ways, coming into the NCI at the very outset, I am intending to listen and to learn. And then in the process, we will formulate and define an ongoing agenda.
