TRANSCRIPT: Dr. Kenneth Kraemer, NCI, discusses various aspects of nonmelanoma skin cancer, including who is affected by this cancer and how to protect children from the sun.

Dr. Kraemer: The nonmelanoma skin cancers are the most common cancers. They primarily affect Caucasians. These cancers are so common, they're not actually counted by most surveys of cancer. We're concerned because skin cancer is caused by sunlight exposure. If we teach children to protect themselves at an early age, this might go a long way to protecting children from skin cancer. Prevention is better than treatment.
