National Cancer Institute Hosts Meeting on Preoperative Therapy in Invasive Breast Cancer
| What: | "Preoperative Therapy in Invasive Breast Cancer: Reviewing the State of the Science and Exploring New Research Directions" will seek to determine the state of the science on this topic because preoperative therapy is increasingly being administered to women with breast cancer. Controversies exist, however, regarding optimal approaches. Among the topics to be discussed are: What is established in the field of preoperative therapy for invasive breast cancer? How should what is known be properly applied? How should preoperative therapy be incorporated into research initiatives? Leading breast cancer experts will be presenting the state of the science and engaging in panel discussions. At the conclusion of the meeting the invited participants will present a summary report of their findings and recommendations. For a complete agenda for the workshop, please go to http://ctep.cancer.gov/bcmeeting. This event will be Webcast at http://videocast.nih.gov/. | |
