NIH Hosts Cancer Health Disparities Summit 2007 - Catalyzing Trans-disciplinary Regional Partnerships to Eliminate Cancer Health Disparities

What: The annual Cancer Health Disparities Summit brings together some of the nation’s top researchers in the field of cancer health disparities.  NIH grantees, health professionals, and community advocates from across the country will gather to discuss their research, successful program strategies, challenges, and accomplishments.

The Summit will provide an opportunity for journalists and science writers to learn more about current research in the field and dialogue with researchers and experts from across the nation.  In addition, a dedicated media room will be available and interviews with spokespersons can be pre-arranged by contacting 301-402-4917 prior to the event.

The overall theme for the Cancer Health Disparities Summit 2007 is Catalyzing Trans-disciplinary Regional Partnerships to Eliminate Cancer Health Disparities. On Wednesday morning, the agenda will feature a session for researchers on working with the media to communicate important health messages.  Members of the media are welcome to participate in the Q&A session that will follow that discussion.
