Career Enhancement Award for Stem Cell Research (K18)

Introduction

The Career Enhancement Award for Stem Cell Research (K18) supports investigators who need training and career development in the appropriate use of stem cells in research and have not yet engaged in such research.

Applicant Eligibility

Citizenship
  • At the time of the award, the candidate must be a citizen of the United States, or a non-citizen national, or must have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence and possess an Alien Registration Receipt Card (1-151 or 1-551) or some other verification of legal admission as a permanent resident
  • Citizenship or green card is not needed to apply. Citizenship or green card is needed at the time of award issuance

Established Investigators
Effort Level/ CommitmentThe candidate must devote at least 6 person-months (equivalent to 50% full-time professional effort) to the activities of the K18 career development award

Financial Support

SalaryUp to $100K/ yr + fringe benefits
Research Development Support; allowable expenses, consultant fees for the mentor, travelUp to $50K/ yr
