NCI's Intramural Research Programs

A portion of NCI’s budget supports the work of scientists working at the NIH Clinical Center, offices, and laboratories located in Bethesda, Maryland. NCI’s intramural researchers and programs are supported by the Center for Cancer Research and the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics.

Center for Cancer Research (CCR)

CCR supports more than 250 scientists and clinicians, organized into more than 50 branches and laboratories, conducting basic, clinical, and translational science. The Center’s researchers pursue high-risk, high-impact research, and translate their discoveries into clinical applications using the infrastructure provided by the NIH Clinical Center, the largest clinical research hospital in the world.
