Trial Description

Purpose:

Drugs used in chemotherapy such as docetaxel use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die.

Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of docetaxel in treating patients who have locally advanced or metastatic penile cancer.

Eligibility:

Eligibility criteria include the following:

• Measurable disease
• No previous chemotherapy for penile cancer
• At least 4 weeks since radiation therapy

Final eligibility for a clinical trial is determined by the health professionals conducting the trial.

Treatment/Intervention:

Patients will receive an infusion of docetaxel once a week for 3 weeks. Treatment may be repeated every 4 weeks for up to six courses. Patients will be evaluated every 3 months for 1 year and every 6 months for 2 years.
