Trial Description

Purpose:

Perifosine may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for tumor cell growth.

Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of perifosine in treating patients who have locally advanced, unresectable, or metastatic pancreatic cancer.

Eligibility:

Final eligibility for a clinical trial is determined by the health professionals conducting the trial.

Treatment/Intervention:

Patients will receive perifosine by mouth every 6 hours for six doses. They will then receive perifosine once a day for as long as benefit is shown. Patients will be evaluated every 3 months for 3 years.
