Trial Description

Purpose:

Combretastatin A4 phosphate may stop the growth of anaplastic thyroid cancer by stopping blood flow to the tumor.

This phase II trial is studying how well combretastatin A4 phosphate works in treating patients with advanced recurrent or metastatic anaplastic thyroid cancer.

Eligibility:

Eligibility criteria include the following:

Final eligibility for a clinical trial is determined by the health professionals conducting the trial.

Treatment/Intervention:

Patients will receive an infusion of combretastatin A4 phosphate once a week for 3 weeks. Treatment may be repeated every 4 weeks for as long as benefit is shown. Patients will be evaluated once a month.
