Alternate Title Phase II Study of Perifosine in Patients With Advanced Soft Tissue Sarcoma
Trial Description Drugs used in chemotherapy such as perifosine use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of perifosine in treating patients who have advanced soft tissue sarcoma.
Final eligibility for a clinical trial is determined by the health professionals conducting the trial. Patients will receive perifosine by mouth every 6 hours on day 1 and once a day thereafter. Treatment may continue for as long as benefit is shown. Patients will be evaluated every 3 months for 5 years.
