Alternate Title Phase II Study of GVAX Lung Cancer Vaccine in Patients With Selected Stage IIIB or Stage IV Bronchoalveolar Carcinoma
Trial Description Vaccines made from a person's tumor tissue may make the body build an immune response to kill tumor cells. This phase II trial is studying vaccine therapy to see how well it works in treating patients with stage IIIB or stage IV bronchoalveolar (lung) cancer. Eligibility criteria include the following:
Final eligibility for a clinical trial is determined by the health professionals conducting the trial. Patients' tumor cells will be obtained and treated in the laboratory to make the vaccine. They will receive injections of the vaccine every 2 weeks for up to five vaccinations. Quality of life will be assessed periodically. Patients will be evaluated at 1 month, every 2 months for 1 year, and every 3 months for 2 years.
