Trial Description

Purpose:

Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as docetaxel and oxaliplatin, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Giving more than one drug may kill more tumor cells.

This phase I/II trial is studying the side effects and best dose of docetaxel and oxaliplatin and to see how well they work in treating patients with stage III or stage IV ovarian epithelial cancer.

Eligibility:

Eligibility criteria include the following:

• 18-75 years old
• Measurable or evaluable disease
• More than 4 weeks since chemotherapy or radiation therapy
• No more than one previous chemotherapy regimen
• No previous oxaliplatin or docetaxel

Final eligibility for a clinical trial is determined by the health professionals conducting the trial.

Treatment/Intervention:

Patients will receive a 1-hour infusion of docetaxel and a 2-hour infusion of oxaliplatin every 3 weeks. Treatment may be repeated for up to six courses.

Patients will be evaluated once a month for 3 months.
