Trial Description

Purpose:

Sorafenib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and by blocking blood flow to the tumor.

This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of sorafenib in treating patients with Kaposi’s sarcoma (KS).

Eligibility:

Eligibility criteria include the following:

Final eligibility for a clinical trial is determined by the health professionals conducting the trial.

Treatment/Intervention:

Patients will receive sorafenib by mouth once or twice a day for up to approximately 1 year.

After finishing treatment, patients will be evaluated at 3-6 weeks.
