Alternate Title Correlation of Menstrual Cycle Phase at the Time of Surgery With Disease-Free Survival in Premenopausal Women With Stage I or II Breast Cancer
Trial Description Timing of breast cancer surgery may improve effectiveness of treatment and may help patients live longer. Clinical trial to determine whether timing of primary surgery in relation to menstrual cycle is associated with disease-free survival 5 years after surgery in women who have stage I or stage II breast cancer.
Final eligibility for a clinical trial is determined by the health professionals conducting the trial. Hormone levels and menstrual history will be obtained. Patients will then undergo surgery. They will complete a questionnaire at 6 months and 1 year after surgery. Patients will be evaluated once a year for 10 years.
