Alternate Title Phase II Study of Gefitinib in Patients With Recurrent and/or Metastatic Squamous Cell Cancer of the Head and Neck
Trial Description Biological therapies such as gefitinib may interfere with the growth of tumor cells by blocking an enzyme necessary for cell growth. Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of gefitinib in treating patients who have recurrent and/or metastatic head and neck cancer. Eligibility criteria include the following:
Final eligibility for a clinical trial is determined by the health professionals conducting the trial. Patients will receive gefitinib by mouth once a day for as long as benefit is shown.
