Trial Description

Purpose:

Comparing results of diagnostic procedures performed before, during, and after chemotherapy may help doctors predict a patient's response to treatment and help plan the most effective treatment.

Diagnostic trial to study magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and biomarkers in women who are receiving chemotherapy before surgery for locally advanced breast cancer.

Eligibility:

Eligibility criteria include the following:

Final eligibility for a clinical trial is determined by the health professionals conducting the trial.

Treatment/Intervention:

Patients will undergo MRI of the breast, biopsy, and blood collections before, during and after chemotherapy. They will also undergo mammography with or without ultrasound before and after chemotherapy. Patients will be evaluated every 6 months for 5 years and once a year for 10 years.
