Trial Description

Purpose:

Evaluating genetic and environmental factors in individuals and families at high risk of developing hematologic cancer may help doctors plan more effective treatments.

Screening trial to determine if genetic and environmental factors contribute to the development of hematologic cancer in individuals and families at high risk for cancer.

Eligibility:

Eligibility criteria include the following:

  • Any age
  • Must have had previous hematologic cancer or have known genetic or environmental risk of developing hematologic cancer
  • For more information about the eligibility criteria for this trial, refer to the Health Professional version.

Final eligibility for a clinical trial is determined by the health professionals conducting the trial.

Treatment/Intervention:

One family member will complete a questionnaire. Blood samples will be collected and some participants may undergo a physical exam, imaging procedures, and/or biopsies. All participants will receive counseling and education for cancer prevention, risk reduction, and early detection. Participants will be evaluated periodically.
