NCI Appropriations have remained flat or have increased only modestly during the past decade. When adjusted for inflation, the purchasing power of NCI appropriations has decreased. In fiscal year 2013, NCI’s budget was reduced an additional $254.6 million as a result of the Budget Control Act of 2011. This FY 2013 budget reduction was known as sequestration.
