Patrick McGarey
Patrick McGarey serves as Associate Director for Finance and Legislation at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), where he oversees NCI budget, legislation, grants financing and administration, and technology transfer. Prior to NCI, Patrick worked for 13 years at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). At FDA, he served as Assistant Commissioner for Budget and Budget Director (2005 – 2012) and FDA Legislative Director (2001 – 2005). Prior to FDA, Patrick worked in the U.S. Congress for 21 years. His time in Congress was split nearly equally between work for the House and for the Senate. Patrick earned his undergraduate degree from Colgate University, law degree from George Washington University, and MBA at University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
