The infographic describes and depicts the PDQ Editorial Board Process. The PDQ Editorial Board Process is comprised of monthly literature reviews, Board meetings to discuss the latest research and update the cancer summaries, and publishing cycles. Over 300 topic searches of PubMed are performed monthly, and Board members review the citations and propose summary updates. The proposed updates are discussed at meetings for the six PDQ Boards: adult treatment, pediatric treatment, supportive and palliative care, screening and prevention, cancer genetics, and integrative, alternative, and complementary therapies. The Boards meet three to six times a year to evaluate evidence and review summary changes. Periodically the PDQ summaries undergo a complete review by the Editorial Board members and by members of an External Advisory Board. Weekly publishing cycles update changes made to the PDQ summaries on NCI’s website. Additionally, the English summaries are translated into Spanish and syndicated by content partners.
