Dr. Maryland Pao of the National Institutes of Mental Health moderated a panel consisting of Dr. Lori Wiener, Co-Director, Behavioral Health Core; Head, Psychosocial Support and Research Program at the POB, Dr. Staci Martin, psychologist in the POB Health Psychology and Neurobehavioral Research Program and James L. Klosky, PhD Director, Psychological Services, Cancer Survivorship Division, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The experts discussed the psychological and social impacts that childhood cancers have on the children, their siblings, parents, friends and others – and how NCI and others are doing research and creating therapies to address their needs.

The panelists also took questions using the hashtag #AskCCR.

Blue Ribbon Panel members, Dr. Elizabeth Jaffee, Professor and Deputy Director for Translational Research at Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, David Arons, Chief Executive Officer at National Brain Tumor Society and Dr. Dinah Singer, Director of NCI's Division of Cancer Biology discussed how to submit ideas to the Cancer Research Ideas platform as well as the latest updates on the Blue Ribbon Panel's activities.
