temozolomide
(teh-moh-ZOH-loh-mide) - A drug used alone or with radiation therapy to treat adults with glioblastoma or anaplastic astrocytoma (types of brain tumors). It is used in patients whose cancer is newly diagnosed or did not get better with other treatment. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Temozolomide damages the cell’s DNA and may kill cancer cells. It is a type of alkylating agent. Also called Temodar.
