liposome-encapsulated miR-34 mimic MRX34
A liposomal formulation containing a nucleotide that mimics the human tumor suppressor microRNA (miRNA) miR-34, with potential antineoplastic activity. Upon administration, liposome-encapsulated MRX34 mimics miR-34 by inhibiting the expression of a variety of oncogenes including MYC, MET, BCL2, and beta-catenin. This induces cell cycle arrest, senescence and apoptosis in susceptible tumor cells. miR-34 is downregulated in most solid and hematologic malignancies and regulates the expression of a variety of genes. This miRNA plays an important role in the inhibition of cancer cell stemness, metastasis and cancer cell survival. Check for active clinical trials or closed clinical trials using this agent.
