Gefitinib is approved to treat:
- Non-small cell lung cancer that is locally advanced or has metastasized (spread to other parts of the body). It is used in patients whose disease has not gotten better with other chemotherapy.
Gefitinib is available only as part of a special program called the Iressa Access Program. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer.
