Trial Description

Purpose:

Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as batracylin, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing.

This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of batracylin in treating patients with metastatic or unresectable solid tumors or lymphoma.

Eligibility:

Eligibility criteria include the following:

Final eligibility for a clinical trial is determined by the health professionals conducting the trial.

Treatment/Intervention:

Patients will receive batracylin by mouth once a day for 1 week. Treatment may repeat every 4 weeks for as long as benefit is shown.

Patients will undergo blood sample collection on days 1, 3, and 7 of the first course and on day 1 of all other courses for laboratory studies.

After finishing treatment, patients will be evaluated for 4 weeks.
