Fluorine F 18 Sodium Fluoride and Fludeoxyglucose F 18 Combined Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography Scan in Diagnosing Patients with Malignant Neoplasms

Trial Status: administratively complete

This pilot research trial studies fluorine F 18 sodium fluoride (F-18 NaF) and fludeoxyglucose F 18 (F-18 FDG) combined positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) scan in diagnosing patients with malignant neoplasms. Diagnostic procedures, such as combined F-18 NaF/F-18 FDG PET/CT scan, may help find and diagnose cancer. It is not yet known whether F-18 NaF/F-18 FDG combined PET/CT scan is more effective than F-18 NaF or F-18 FDG PET/CT scans performed separately in diagnosing cancer.
