Androgen-Deprivation Therapy and Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients with Prostate Cancer

Trial Status: closed to accrual and intervention

This phase III trial studies androgen-deprivation therapy and radiation therapy in treating patients with prostate cancer. Androgens can cause the growth of prostate cancer cells. Androgen deprivation therapy may stop the adrenal glands from making androgens. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells.
