Determining the Risk Factor Profile and Biology of Colorectal Cancer in Nigeria
Trial Status: active
This study seeks to understand and address unique risk factors, rates, and cause (etiology) of colorectal cancer in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Non-communicable diseases are becoming a major public health problem in low and middle income countries. The most common diseases included in this group are cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. Developing robust data registries may help provide researchers with accurate and comprehensive data for the evaluation of such diseases in sub-Saharan Africa. Information gathered from this study may help to radically alter researchers' approach to colorectal cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in this region.
