Chinese Herbal Complementary and Alternative Medicine for the Prevention of Side Effects from Radiation Therapy

Trial Status: active

This clinical trial evaluates the effect of Chinese herbal complementary and alternative medicine in preventing pain and itching associated with minor burns in response to radiotherapy. Patients who are undergoing radiation therapy may have side effects on normal tissues and this significantly impact the quality of life or survivors. This trial aims to see whether an over-the counter Chinese herbal product for burn, called Chin Wan Hung, may help to prevent radiation therapy-related side effects. Future application of this plant-based product may improve human health and enhance horticultural and botanical sciences.
