This study identifies makers in blood and tissue that could indicate risk factors for the development and progression of esophagus cancer. Collecting samples of blood and health and treatment information from patients with esophageal cancer may help doctors identify genetic and behavioral risk factors involved in the development of esophageal cancer might allow for early detection and prevention.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
I. Identify markers in blood and tissue that could indicate risk factors for the development and progression of esophagus cancer.
OUTLINE:
Patients complete questionnaire on study and undergo collection of blood samples throughout the study. Patients may also undergo biopsies and collection of saliva and lymph node tissue on study.
