Geriatric Assessment to Optimize Outcomes of Older Patients with Muscle‐Invasive Bladder Cancer after Radical Cystectomy

Trial Status: complete

This study uses a geriatric assessment to optimize outcomes of older patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer after surgery to remove all of the bladder as well as nearby tissues and organs (radical cystectomy). People 65 and older who need chemotherapy for bladder cancer have different needs related to the treatment than younger people. A comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) is a group of tests and questionnaires that give the researchers information about older patients' overall health status. Researchers hope, by collecting information in the form of questionnaires and assessments from people who are 65 and older, before and after treatment for bladder cancer, they will find better strategies for improving safety and tolerability of bladder cancer treatment and improving overall quality of life for patients.
