Genetic Cancer Screening Program for Identifying Women at High Risk for Breast and Colorectal Cancer in Underserved Areas

Trial Status: active

This clinical trial tests how well genetic cancer screening programs work to increase the number of women identified as high risk using mobile mammogram units and clinics in underserved areas. Underserved areas are areas that do not have adequate access to medical care. Breast cancer and colorectal cancer are major health issues that affect underserved populations. Genetic testing can help identify those at a higher risk for hereditary breast and colorectal cancers. Hereditary cancers are cancers that can be passed down in families. The goal of this study is to find patients that are at high risk for hereditary breast and colorectal cancer and eligible for standard of care genetic counseling and testing.
