Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Before Stereotactic Radiosurgery in Treating Patients With Brain Metastases
Trial Status: complete
This clinical trial studies hyperbaric oxygen therapy before stereotactic radiosurgery in treating patients with brain metastases. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy increases oxygen levels in all kinds of tissues, including tumors. Oxygen enhances the damaging effects of radiation on tumor cells. Stereotactic radiosurgery may be able to send x-rays directly to the tumor and cause less damage to normal tissue. Giving hyperbaric oxygen therapy before stereotactic radiosurgery may be an effective treatment for brain metastases.
