Pembrolizumab and Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients with Metastatic Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

Trial Status: administratively complete

This phase II trial studies how well pembrolizumab and radiation therapy work in treating patients with non-small cell lung cancer that has spread to other places in the body (metastatic). Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body’s immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Giving pembrolizumab and radiation may work better in treating patients with non-small cell lung cancer.
