Daratumumab or JNJ-40346527 before Surgery in Treating Patients with High-Risk, Resectable Localized or Locally Advanced Prostate Cancer

Trial Status: complete

This phase I trial studies the side effects of daratumumab or JNJ-40346527 before surgery in treating patients with high-risk prostate cancer that can be removed by surgery (resectable) and has not spread to other parts of the body (localized) or has spread to nearby tissue or lymph nodes (locally advanced). Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as daratumumab, may help the body’s immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. JNJ-40346527 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving daratumumab or JNJ-40346527 before surgery may shrink or slow the growth of prostate cancer
