PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
I. To collect patients’ specimens in the course of routine biopsies to evaluate molecular tests mostly based on ribonucleic acid (RNA) expression.
OUTLINE:
Pleural tissue samples are collected from patients during diagnostic pleural biopsy, pleuroscopy, and/or video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) resection and analyzed in the laboratory for biomarkers via reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and RNA sequencing.
