This trial studies how well a mobile tobacco cessation intervention (Kwit) works in helping current every day smokers to quit smoking. Using the Kwit smartphone application may help smokers stay smoke-free after they leave the hospital.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
I. To assess the impact of using a smartphone application (app) compared with usual care on tobacco cessation.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVE:
I. To generate feasibility data to provide the necessary information to inform a future fully powered clinical trial.
OUTLINE: Participants are randomized to 1 of 2 arms.
ARM I: Participants use the Kwit smartphone tobacco cessation app for 30 days.
ARM II: Participants receive standard of care Tobacco Treatment Service counseling.
