This trial investigates the experiences of patients from the time of admission to the hospital to the time of recovery after minimally invasive surgery to remove the uterine body (partial hysterectomy) or the uterine body and cervix (total hysterectomy). Educational videos about patients' perioperative experience (period that spans from the time of admission to the hospital to the time of recovery after surgery) may affect the timing of hospital discharge, and may help to better prepare patients for surgery, reduce the burden on patients and their caregivers, and increase patient satisfaction.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
I. To assess if a supplemental patient educational video that addresses specific patient perioperative concerns influences the timing of patient discharge (ambulatory extended recovery [AXR] versus [vs] same day discharge) following minimally invasive surgery.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVES:
I. To assess patient satisfaction with the educational video and the timing of discharge.
II. To assess whether safety and surgical outcomes are affected by the timing of discharge.
III. To further delineate patient educational needs in the perioperative period using discrete choice survey.
OUTLINE:
PHASE I (COMPLETED 3/31/2021):
Patients complete a qualitative interview over 30 minutes regarding their preferences for post-operative recovery and concerns about the perioperative period.
PHASE II: Patients complete discrete-choice survey.
PHASE III: Patients are randomized to 1 of 2 arms.
ARM A: Patients watch an educational video over 10 minutes addressing patient concerns about the perioperative period and recovery after surgery (post-operative recovery). Patients also receive usual care consisting of standard preoperative counseling.
ARM B: Patients receive usual care consisting of standard preoperative counseling.
