Stellate Ganglion Blockade with Local Anesthetic for the Improvement of Hot Flashes in Patients with Prostate Cancer on Androgen Deprivation Therapy

This phase I trial investigates whether stellate ganglion block with bupivacaine (a local anesthetic) may help reduce the number and severity of hot flashes in men with prostate cancer on androgen deprivation therapy who have hot flashes. The stellate ganglion is a nerve located in the deep tissues on the front of the neck. Hot flashes can have a significant impact on daily living, disrupt sleep, and lead to fatigue and irritability during the day. Stellate ganglion blockade may help reduce the number and severity of hot flashes in men with prostate cancer on androgen deprivation therapy.
