This study collects information about interpretations and predictions of patient reported outcomes by breast cancer patients. This study aims to learn more about patients' thoughts on current and future quality of life in these areas after surgery, and to assess how patients’ long-term quality of life after different surgical approaches compares to their predicted quality of life.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
I. To compare patients’ predicted quality of life (QoL) to actual QoL 6 months and 1 year after breast conserving therapy (BCT) and mastectomy.
II. To evaluate how patients perceive different measures of QoL during treatment for breast cancer and to ascertain which QoL measures patients want to be informed about when making treatment decisions for their breast cancer.
III. To assess how patients interact with and interpret QoL measures and to determine the preferred means of information display.
OUTLINE: This is an observational study.
AIM I: Patients complete questionnaires over 3 minutes preoperatively and then at 2 weeks, and every 3 months until 1 year after surgery on study.
AIM II: Patients complete a journey mapping worksheet questionnaire and participate in an interview over 20 minutes on study.
AIM III: Patients complete surveys and a focus group on study.
