Abbreviated MRI Protocol for the Diagnosis of Women with Findings Highly Suspicious for Breast Cancer
Trial Status: closed to accrual
This clinical trial studies the effectiveness of an abbreviated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) protocol as compared to a full MRI protocol in diagnosing women with findings highly suspicious for breast cancer. This trial also evaluates whether the use of a different contrast agent, Dotarem, which is currently FDA approved for use in other parts of the body, can also be effective in a breast MRI. An abbreviated MRI protocol with fewer images may be as effective as a standard MRI protocol for diagnostic purposes. If the abbreviated MRI is as good, it may help reduce costs for future patients and increase the number of screenings that can be completed on a particular MRI machine.
