Predicting Location and Extent of Prostate Cancer using Micro-Ultrasound Imaging

This clinical trial studies the use of a clinical micro-ultrasound device ExactVu, to image the prostate before biopsy or surgery. The ExactVu device is FDA approved for micro-ultrasound imaging of the prostate. The images from the ultrasound system will be saved and compared to other imaging modalities and pathology in order to develop better tools. This study may help to create a database of micro-ultrasound data that will allow researchers to develop ultrasound biomarkers for prostate cancer.

Inclusion Criteria

Patient scheduled for magnetic resonance-ultrasound (MR-US) fusion prostate biopsy or radical prostatectomy.
Ability to understand and the willingness to sign a written informed consent document.

Exclusion Criteria

Does not agree to consent.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

I. To use a clinical micro-ultrasound to systematically image the prostate before biopsy or surgery.

OUTLINE:

Patients undergo micro-ultrasound imaging using ExactVu device after prostate biopsy or radical prostatectomy.
