An App (Untire) for the Management of Cancer Related Fatigue in Patients with Metastatic Colorectal Cancer, UNTIRE App Study
This clinical trial studies how well the Untire application (app) works in controlling cancer-related fatigue in patients with colorectal cancer that has spread from where it first started (primary site) to other places in the body (metastatic). One of the goals of treatment for cancer related fatigue is to make patients feel better by reducing their fatigue and improving their energy. Sometimes cancer and chemotherapy treatments cause side effects that increase a patients’ symptom of fatigue, like low blood counts, diarrhea, or pain. However, cancer related fatigue is something that acts as it’s own side effect of cancer and cancer treatments. It can be hard to figure out how to manage fatigue at home, and even when to call the doctor. Clinicians may also have a hard time monitoring patients’ symptoms and activity levels when they are at home, away from clinic. The Untire app trial is testing the ease of use of the Untire app as a digital treatment plan for cancer related fatigue in patients with colorectal cancer and currently on cancer treatment. The Untire app helps the patient recognize and learn about daily behaviors, fatigue levels, and energy levels. The app may reduce fatigue and improve energy and overall quality of life in colorectal cancer patients currently receiving cancer treatment.
