Onsite Tobacco Cessation Treatment in Patients with Peripheral Artery Disease

Trial Status: closed to accrual

This clinical trial studies the feasibility of establishing an on-site visit with a tobacco treatment specialist for patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD) treated at the University of Oklahoma (OU) Cardiovascular Institute Limb Preservation Clinic (LPC). Tobacco cessation treatment is needed for individuals with PAD to improve symptoms, lower cardiovascular risk, and prevent amputation. While such treatment is effective, many PAD patients do not receive cessation therapy. Integrating tobacco cessation services into a dedicated onsite PAD clinic may be able to improve tobacco cessation rates and improve PAD-related health outcomes.
