Evaluating the Effect of 2D Antiscatter Grids on the Quality of CBCT Images Obtained from Patients with Prostate, Head and Neck, and Upper Abdomen Cancers

Trial Status: closed to accrual and intervention

This clinical trial evaluates how a 2-dimensional (2D) antiscatter grid used on a cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanner affects the quality of images obtained from patients with prostate, head and neck, and upper abdomen cancers. A 2D antiscatter grid is a type of x-ray filter that is attached to a CBCT scanner, which is a type of imaging device used during radiation treatments. A 2D antiscatter grid may improve the quality of images obtained with CBCT scans. Improved image quality may allow clinicians to see tumors and healthy tissues better to deliver radiation more accurately.
