Cryoablation in Combination with Nirogacestat for the Treatment of Patients with Desmoid Tumors

Trial Status: active

This phase II trial tests how well cryosurgery (cryoablation) in combination with nirogacestat works in treating patients with desmoid tumors. Cryoablation involves freezing and thawing tumor tissue in order to destroy it. Nirogacestat is a small molecule inhibitor of a protein called gamma secretase. Nirogacestat binds to and inhibits gamma secretase, which is believed to contribute to desmoid tumor growth. Adding nirogacestat to cryoablation may kill more tumor cells in patients with desmoid tumors than cryoablation alone.
