Monetary Reimbursement to Reduce Financial Toxicity in Women with Early Stage Breast Cancer Who are Enrolled in a Clinical Trial

Trial Status: closed to accrual

This trial tests the best amount of monetary reimbursement for reducing financial toxicity in women with early stage breast cancer who are enrolled in a clinical trial. Breast cancer patients of low socioeconomic status are one population group underrepresented in clinical trials, potentially due to the high out-of-pocket costs associated with trial participation. The high out-of-pocket costs associated with trial participation drive underrepresentation of economically vulnerable women with breast cancer in clinical trials and could worsen existing unequal clinical outcomes. This trial may help researchers understand the impact of reimbursement for clinical trial-related costs in addressing barriers to trial participation.
